Job Description

COMPANY SUMMARY:

 

Vergent Products (www.vergentproducts.com) is a dynamic and growing company in Loveland, Colorado that creates and produces electro-mechanical products while providing freedom for its employees to achieve their goals in an enjoyable environment.   We offer our clients a broad range of services for product realization including product conceptualization, design, prototyping, regulatory certification, manufacturing, and warranty service.

 

JOB SUMMARY:     

 

Responsible for quoting materials on printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) and final assembly (FA) projects.  Utilize automated quoting tools and become the subject matter expert on optimizing the use of quote automation to eliminate labor intensive manual steps in the quoting process.  Work with the Quote Process Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, and Business Development Engineer to integrate material pricing into the final quote.  Solicit the assistance from technical experts as needed.  Support quoting process to yield 95% accuracy and average 3 day turn around.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Use client Bill of Materials (BOM) and Vergent Client Requirements Document (CRD) information to generate price quotes from suppliers for each component on the BOM
  • Work with Business Development Engineer to identify any gaps in client documentation and information received
  • Use automated pricing tool (ie. CalcuQuote) as the mechanism for PCBA component pricing quotes
  • Capture component costs in our Costed BOM as the primary output.  Share Costed BOM with the Quote Process Engineer and take any needed actions on component lead times, alternates, etc… to finalize the Costed BOM.
  • Work with Mechanical Engineer on FA quotes to generate Costed BOM for top level custom components.  
  • Strive to achieve a three (3) day or less turn around time on quote generation.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: 

 

  • AAS or equivalent experience working in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment (both PCBA and box build)
  • Knowledge of electronic components and PCB’s is a must.  Knowledge of fabricated components (plastics, metal, cables, wiring,…etc) is a plus
  • Ability to work with and become expert in using automated quoting software packages
  • Attention to detail and accurate data entry is critical to success
  • Strong sense of urgency to deliver quotes against client deadlines
  • MS Excel skills
  • Positive attitude, teamwork, and desire to work with sales, project managers, and clients

Assembles, tests, and inspects simple to complex electronic and electro-mechanical products in a contract manufacturing team-based environment using established procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • [Master] Safely assembles, tests, and inspects electronic and electro-mechanical products from written instructions.  Tasks and duties will vary according to the product and assignment.
  • [Master] Assures no workmanship or material defects passed downstream resulting in a defective free product delivered to the client.   Report actual and potential quality issues for corrective/preventative action.
  • [Master] Manages self to ensure on-time delivery of product at or below standard times under direct supervision.
  • [Master] Manages self in the execution of their personal training plan to ensure they are trained to perform assigned work.    
  • [Master] Completes work according to relevant standards (IPC) and work instructions.   
  • [Master] Makes recommendations to improve quality, increase productivity, manufacturability, or reduce cost.

Order Fulfillment Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:     

Manage and execute direct ship order fulfillment services including domestic and international shipments to big box retailers, distribution centers, and on-line direct customer fulfillment.

This position is a lead role in organizing, directing, and developing Vergent Products direct order fulfillment practice and services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive and process dispatch orders from Vergent Product clients and/or directly from their end customer.

  • Plan and coordinate customization and localization resources.

  • Arrange transportation resources for daily shipments.

  • Transact inventory movements to/from client warehouses.

  • Prepare all shipping containers, product labels, shipping labels, container labels, bills of lading, pack slips, and international export documents.

  • Configure, pack, and label shipments.

  • Provide shipment status and tracking information to clients.

  • Maintain shipment records.

  • Lead the development of Vergent Products direct order fulfillment practice and services including creation of work instructions, providing input for system development, and training others.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safely test, calibrate, diagnose, and repair to component level any electronic and/or electro-mechanical products from written documentation (procedures, schematics, etc). Tasks and duties will vary according to the assignment and may include new production build, customer returns, warranty products or incoming assemblies.
Identifies root cause of failures and fix defective products. Report actual and potential quality issues for corrective/preventative action.
Manages time and resources to ensure on-time delivery of product at or below standard times without direct supervision.
Completes work according to relevant standards (IPC). Provide training and auditing of production personnel to ensure relevant standards are met.
Makes recommendations to improve quality, increase productivity, manufacturability, or reduce cost.
