Performs general duties associated with stock/inventory handling.


  • [Entry] Processes inventory movements according to written processes and procedures.  Uses proper ESD handling to ensure integrity of product. (Processing kits, inventory transactions, requests for counts, etc.)
  • [Entry] Assures that no incorrect materials are passed downstream as a result of improper stocking or labeling of product.   Report actual and potential quality issues for corrective/preventative action.
  • [Entry] Manages time and resources to ensure on-time processing of material at or below standard times under direct supervision.
  • [Entry] Counts parts per direction for daily cycle counts.   
  • [Entry] Opens packages, reviews pack slips, counts and verifies product for receipt.
  • [Entry] Packages, crates, bundles and prepares product for shipment.
  • [Entry] Ships regular shipments out of system.
  • [Entry] Receives regular deliveries into system. 
  • [Entry] Locates new and removes obsolete material in the warehouse, physically and in system.
  • [Master] Prints daily cycle count sheets and audits counts, researches discrepancies and follows policies on adjustments.
  • [Master] Verifies accuracy of inventory movement (inflow and outflow)
  • [Master] Makes recommendations to improve quality, increase productivity, manufacturability, or reduce cost.  Participates in continuous improvement efforts.
  • [Master] Trains and directs others to carry out established procedures.
  • [Master] Operates complex machines.  (i.e. pallet jack, electric or motorized forklift)
  • [Expert] Leads process improvement efforts and corrective/preventative action using established method and practices, contributes to the development of the department. 
  • [Expert] Identifies new products needing packaging VMS and coordinates with quality to get them completed prior to shipping the first delivery, also identifies existing products that are lacking packaging VMS’s and drives to complete them during the next shipment of that product.
  • [Expert] Handles exceptions in shipping and receiving of product in system.
  • [Expert] Reviews material requisition forms for trends and reporting of scrap and fallout.
  • [Expert] Analyses data from cycle counts to determine cause and make improvements.
  • [Expert] Leads the direction of the warehouse set up and directs priorities based on overview of warehouse needs.
  • [Expert] Responsible for equipment maintenance schedule and execution.
  • [Expert] Knowledge of domestic and international shipping requirements.
  • [Expert] Translates industry best practices and applicable standards into Vergent Products procedures and methods.

Results and Performance

Promotion to Master is based on mastery of skills plus achieving “Meets Expectations” in all performance categories.   Incumbents are expected to achieve mastery within 24 months. Entry is often limited to one area (ie: Shipping, Receiving,  or Warehouse)


Results and Performance

This is the career level.  Promotion to Expert is based on business need and demonstrated ability to lead improvements. Master level is expected to function in all department areas.


Results and Performance

Experts are limited to 50% of the material handling workforce and is based on business need and sustained performance at Master level
